Icahn School of Medicine @ Mt. Sinai: Presentation — Introduction to Direct Primary Care (DPC)

October 5, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm

Free

Dr. Josh Umbehr, AtlasMDDr. Josh Umbehr, Founder of AtlasMD, a Direct Primary Care facility in Wichita, KS will make a short presentation and take questions about how a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model of healthcare delivery works.

NOTE: This event takes place in the Eastern time zone. ALL are welcome to attend. Indian food will be served; RSVPs appreciated.

POST-EVENT SUMMARY: Dr. Josh spoke to 75 students and interested community members about how under Direct Primary Care, patients pay doctors directly for primary care instead of paying through insurance. For doctors, this means seeing fewer patients and spending significantly more time with each one, avoiding the hassle of insurance coding and billing, and striking a better work-life balance. For patients this means receiving greater access to their doctors, enjoying the convenience of same or next day appointments, spending very little time in the waiting room, and improving overall better health outcomes. All this is done for less than a hundred dollars a month.

“Students were incredibly engaged and fascinated by the talk. Numerous people followed up with Dr. Josh, and several have already requested that he returns to talk again. The Indian food was also a huge draw at the event.” ~Haran Sivakumar, BRI-Icahn, President
