Ohio University HCOM-Dublin — LECTURE: Medicine, Markets and Poverty

Dr. Beth Haynes, MD, BRI executive director, will speak on poverty as the major determinant of health, and how markets are the best way to alleviate poverty.

Click this picture to watch Dr. Beth Haynes, MD speak to medical students at St. Louis University School of Medicine on October 2, 2015 about the major role of poverty as a determinant of health, and the incredible power of markets to relieve poverty and thereby improve the health status of our most vulnerable citizens.

POST-EVENT SUMMARY: Thirty-five students attended Dr. Haynes’s talks on the benefits of free markets for healthcare. She distinctly highlighted the failures of our current policies and the successes of free markets in regards to healthcare, poverty levels and economics. Dr. Haynes spoke to both the Dublin and Athens campuses.
