OU-HCOM|Dublin—LECTURE: The Labyrinth Guide: a conversation with health care advocate Annette Ticoras, MD

January 10, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

All are welcome to join us for a lunch discussion on the role of the patient advocate in helping to navigate the healthcare system. Dr. Ticoras is an internal medicine physician who now practices patient advocacy full-time at Guided Patient Services.

YouTube video

POST-EVENT SUMMARY: Dr. Ticoras described her journey as an internal medicine physician and how she became a full time patient advocate. She went through the details of her responsibilities as a patient advocate. She also gave specific examples of how she has affected patient outcomes through her work.
This was a very casual round table event where Dr. Ticoras gave a presentation about half the time and we were able to ask her questions about her work the other half. This was a very rewarding talk and helped illustrate the importance of the doctor patient relationship.
