University of Louisville School of Medicine—Town Hall: Healthcare panel discussion

September 23, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

NOTE: This event occurs in the eastern time zone.

All are welcome to University of Louisville’s first BRI event of the academic year. We are extremely pleased to bring you three renowned healthcare experts—each focusing on a different area of specialty and addressing a variety of concerns. We will allow plenty of time for Q&A.

Food will be served. RSVPs are appreciated!

BevinMatt Bevin, Republican Candidate for KY Governor will discuss his ideas about healthcare solutions for Kentucky. [NOTE: In keeping with BRI’s 501(c)3 status, this is not an endorsement or political event.]

Josh Umbehr, AtlasMD

Dr. Josh Umbehr, AtlasMD has long been a proponent of transparent pricing and free market solutions to healthcare delivery. A speaker at BRI’s 2015 Leadership Conference in Washington, DC., “Dr. Josh” is a favorite speaker for those seeking to understand how free markets best serve everyone—doctors, patients, and the underserved.

Akash ChouguleAkash Chougule, Deputy Director of Policy at Americans For Prosperity will discuss his extensive research into the ACA, including non-partisan findings that confirms the fears and predictions that many people have had since the introduction of President Obama’s healthcare law.

POST-EVENT SUMMARY: Over 100 students and faculty attended BRI’s first University of Louisville event of 2015, where they heard Dr. Josh Umbehr discuss his concierge family practice and the Concierge Medicine Revolution, Mr. Matt Bevin speak about healthcare in Kentucky, and Akash Chougule present healthcare facts and figures from Americans for Prosperity and the CBO.

The event concluded with a panel discussion and audience Q&A. This event provided an incredible amount of information on healthcare. The audience asked very thoughtful questions for 30 minutes. Our only regret is that we did not have longer to discuss healthcare with these three incredibly knowledgeable gentlemen. Please stay tuned for more excellent, educational and informative events from BRI-University of Louisville!
